This trail offers one of the best views of all of Doi Pui. The first 100m of this trail is steps carved in dirt reenforced by wood. It should be walked just to be nice to the people who built and maintain them. From there, you get to ride through pine forest along the north ridge of Doi Pui. The steep section is usually walked. The consequences can be harsh if you take a fall there, and it's no fun to get hurt at the beginning of a very long descent. At the end of this trail, you will find a concrete road to Khun Chang Kien Hmong village. From there you have many options to continue you descent into Chiang Mai.

Access Info

Take a shuttle from Chiang Mai to Sun Koo. Ride along the road for about one kilometer. You will find a fork on the road with a small shack, the unoccupied National Park checkpoint. Continue to the left. Lift your bike over the gate, and ride up the road for about 20 minutes. You will pass the summit of Doi Pui. At the end of the road, there's a sign pointing to the viewpoint, which is also the trailhead.
