Winding downhill trail perfect for beginner riders. Usually pretty blown out due to the number of people riding it. This has been improved over the last few years thanks to the number of concrete pavers that they have built up some of the berms with. Overall a fun, fast, nontechnical trail.

Downtown will always occupy a special place. It's where I learned and where I got most of my injuries riding. It is a wide trail I can pick up a lot of speed on this trail. There is a lot of sand in limited spots which is a good way to start learning how to ride Mammoth. There is a sharp switchback towards the end that is very sandy and I've seen several people (myself included) wipeout here.

During peak days and times (weekends and middle of the day), there are a lot of people that are not sure what they are doing yet, and a lot of families and little kids. The trail is pretty empty otherwise.

There are three steep climbs on this trail towards the beginning which are difficult for anyone out of shape and can be a bummer for a beginner. These climbs can be avoided by instead climbing the hills on Minaret Road to Parking F and then joining Downtown, or by coming off Brake Through.
