Lolo National Forest

A dirt road connecting the South Side Road to the ridge of the Grave Creek Range. From the bottom the first couple of miles are open to vehicles. After that the road is gated and closed to motorized vehicles. There is parking available near the gate. Beyond the gate the road is in good shape and generally smooth with good views of the Missoula valley as you gain elevation. At the top there is a small section of hike-a-bike required to connect to the Grave Creek Growler jeep road.

Access Info

The bottom of the road is easily accessed from the South Side Road. It's possible to drive the first couple of miles and park at the gate. Finding the road from the top is more challenging. A GPS is recommended to locate the turn. A few hundred feet of hike-a-bike on an old road bed separates the rideable road from the Grave Creek Growler jeep trail.
