Eagle Rock Details
Eagle Rock is the longest trail on Mount Borah. It starts at the top of the mountain (~910m) runs along a fire trail in a NW direction. At the cattle grate on the western face track you turn right and follow a 4 wheel drive track to a steep decent (well marked) with a off camber right hand corner that leads to 2.5km of fast flowing single track. This single track is made up off numerous fast tight off camber corners and rock gardens. Keep off the brakes for this track to get the most out of the speedy decent.
From the lowest point of this section you will now have some hard climbing to do (800m in distance, 40m ascent). You can either walk this section or put the effort in to achieve the satisfaction of getting through some technical ups and downs before the trail joins onto the bottom section of a trail call Snake Bite.
The bottom section of Eagle Rock is Snake Bite, which is the lower section of the DH trail. This is also the easiest part of Snake Bite which is fast flowy single track with jumps, drops, table tops and berms.
From Manilla (approx 10mins to Mt Borah), drive through town and then head north over the Namoi River Bridge. Turn left 200m after bridge into Boggabri Rd (you will see a paraglider graphic left pointer sign) Don't drive straight ahead to Barraba and Upper Manilla as directed by most Car GPS Navi units.
Continue on for ~1km and just after Manilla River concrete bridge turn right into Wimbourne Rd (you will see a paraglider graphic right pointer sign). After 300m Wimbourne Rd has a T intersection where you continue to the right.
Continue on for ~11kms (its gravel after 6kms). There are two big creek dips as you travel. Just after the 2nd big dip (gully crossing) at 11kms turn right into Manilla Paragliding sign posted driveway.
NOTE: Mt Borah access road is 50m further along Wimbourne Rd on left.
