Eldorado provides a single track option and direct access to the middle section of Post Canyon. In the uphill direction it begins at the intersection of Upper GP, Lower GP, and Baby GP. It ends at the start of 2 Chair and 3 Blind Mice. The trail does tie in to Upper 8 Track if looking to access Extended Play instead of riding the full trail.

It can also be ridden in the downhill direction for a beginner level downhill trail.

Eldorado is the brain child of legendary trail builder Doug Van Zandt. Eldorado construction has been spear headed by Craig Spaeth working with HRATS and Hood River County Forestry Dept. Eldorado is a single track trail connecting Lower and Upper Post Canyon. Its 4 mile length and tough terrain made construction a huge challenge requiring about 800 hours of machine time. Machine rental and operator time make up the vast majority of the costs for HRATS to fund Eldorado. HRATS will spend close to $40,000 to complete Eldorado. Costs are offset by a huge volunteer effort. Craig Spaeth alone spent about 1500 hours on Eldorado, unpaid. Craig had help from countless volunteers during HRATS work parties as well as countless smaller group work parties. Total work hours to complete Eldorado will be close to 3000.

Help is still needed in the form of donations to HRATS who basically drained the bank on this trail. For HRATS, Eldorado is a "Build it and they will come" trail.

Please donate generously to HRATS so that Eldorado and future projects have the funding they need.

Rode today trail was fantastic, kudos to HRATS. A bit more work than I expected but full disclosure I was on my trek 850 hard tail - hard fork bike circa 1989. Looking forward to a re-ride when my new bike shows up in 2 weeks. New bike every 30 years :-)

Awesome way up to the top of 3 Blind Mice/2 Chair climb is super easy and steady up hill the entire way through. Good shade for about 70% of the climb, this may change as logging activity picks up in Post Canyon. Mike did a great job designing and developing this trail. HRATS team are among the best!
