The first part of this trail is also referred to as "Fence Line" and paralells the official "North Rim" trail. It's so close you can choose either, although the Fence Line is more singletrack while North Rim is wide and rocky for the first couple miles. The climb is not steep, but it is rocky and rough and is the typical bike of choice here is a 4-6" travel full suspension. Once you reach the top, you can come back down the trail a bit to the sign for "B-Trail", which is a fun and technical downhill.

These are my local trails and North Rim trail is pretty mellow. The description is spot on.

B trail is the only real downhill section. It's near the top of North Rim trail.
