Many riders use Fern Truck as the climb to come down El Prieto. It is roughly a steady 10% incline, although there is a little relief near the top where it is not quite as steep. The views are fantastic so if that is important to you, this one is highly recommended. There are many drainage ruts, but otherwise nothing very technical. It is also fun to come down if the more challenging El Prieto is bit too much for you; perhaps a good choice for less experienced riders.

Rutty and rocky as per usual, but pretty dry and in otherwise decent condition. Very fast, not too crowded, and hotter than hell.
