Along with NCS, one of the two most technical trails at Deer Valley. Like Thieves Forest, it's usually loose scree and dust, but pretty fun. This, along with Thieves and NCS, are almost single blacks now as people, over the years, have moved rocks and created ridearounds to the difficult sections. Still great trails but DH bikes are no longer necessary to ride them anymore.

Seriously, wow. What a great trail. The top has some highly technical rock that needs to be inspected before riding. The proper lines are amazing. There are consequences for missing the line. You get a rest in the middle where FS meets the green Holy Roller trail. FS transitions into forest switchbacks with log built drops. It gives each section character and keeps the ride interesting. Fire Swamp delivers the whole way down.

As a baseline, I can do all the single blacks in DV without too much trouble. IMO the upper section of FS is a double black due to the loose rock, steepness and large rock placements forcing you to really commit to a line. Had to walk a couple parts in the beginning. After the first section I could get down the rest of the trail. The latter half is an absolute blast with all the drops and tight switchbacks. Probably my favorite tech trail in the whole park.

Favorite trail at Deer Valley; would strongly recommend over Thieves Forrest (8/201

The rain has made the top loose and a bit slick and Hero Dirt below the top section.
