Fisher was newly reworked in Spring 2019 into a classic Canadian Shield cycling experience. Building on an old, unmaintained snowshoe trail, it has been sculpted into a challenging ride on some of the hilliest singletrack in the system. The entrance can be challenging, requiring some momentum to carry you up the initial short climb from the main Lynx Loop trail. The next climb is a granny-gear grinder, followed by a long, flowy descent back to the bottom of the valley. After that, a series of short and punchy climbs, nearly all relentlessly uphill, takes you to the far end of the trail, at pretty much the highest point on the trail system. Riders are then rewarded with a long, flowy descent back to the valley floor, where the Fisher ends as is connects to the Short Otter, which eventually returns to the Bunny and the Long Lynx. Rated black for its tough climbs, some bare granite riding, and a few rock garden-style descents. A great test of both your legs and your skill
