This old logging road connects the Payne Creek Trail with the Payne Creek road giving you an alternative to ride down the Payne Creek Road or the upper Ford Creek Road if doing the loop. There is sagebrush, scattered rocks and some down trees across the tread but nothing too difficult to get around. There are several earthen barriers on the south end but are easily gone over or around with a bicycle.
The north end off the Ford Creek road starts in the big cow patch. At the north end look for the trail just below the lone Douglas-fir tree in the cow patch. At the south end, the trail starts at the earthen barriers at the end of the Payne Creek Road at the creek.
