Starts out with an easy pedal around the high school and avocado farms. At the top of the first steep climb with fences on both sides there will be a bell box on the left after the fence ends. If you don't have a bell already you can borrow one from there courtesy of Gonzo Cycles. From there the switchbacks begin. You'll find some tight rocky turns to test your climbing skills and a set of stairs you can attempt to climb (if you pedal up you are a beast). At the end of the switchbacks approx. 0.8 miles from the bell box begins the fire road section. Keep climbing as far as you'd like to go and enjoy the views of the Carpinteria coastline. Bells are required on the downhill.

Good views of the Carp coastline at the top, but that's about it. Beware, only a mile of this trail is singletrack the rest is double track or fire road. Couldn't really enjoy the descent with the # of hikers using the trail and this was mid-week and early in the day....
