This is a purpose built mountain bike trail, constructed by bikers for bikers. A truly great trail with magnificent views, abundant wildflowers and excellent fun riding. The trail climbs from a cutblock up through an impressive mountain hemlock subalpine forest and into alpine meadows, cresting on rolling Frisby Ridge with views in all directions. From the high point, the trail dips down to a small lake where you either turn back or continue along the alpine ridge another 6 km on Frisby Vistas trail but remember this is an out and back trail so save enough energy and water for the return ride.

Access Info

This is a wilderness trail. Be prepared with lots of water, spare tubes, tools, etc. Watch for bears and carry bear spray.

Turn left off Westside Rd onto Frisby FSR. Follow signs on the FSR 9 km to the Frisby Ridge Trailhead. The road is 2 wheel drive accessible but we recommend a vehicle with some clearance.

Disclaimer

This trail is under an enforced caribou closure every year until July 15. Users will incur fines if they enter the closure area. Riding this trail before July 15 could lead to it being closed permanently.

Things are getting pretty wet once you get above tree line. To keep the trail in good shape for next year I ask everyone to not ride past the tree line for the rest of 2017.
      Please respect the trail!

Is this open? A guy in a local store told us it is open. But reports here are conflicting. Was hoping to ride it today..

Amazeballs! Clear and flowing great both directions. Wildflowers are going off right now. So are flies and mosquitos- bring bug spray.

We rode from town to do this ride. It was 40 miles and about 5800’ of climbing. Would not do it again. (The distance was okay, but it was just a lousy dusty road with little shade on the way up). Had to turn around at Frisbee lake because we started from town and food/water were a concern. I’d definitely do it again including Frisbee Vistas and UFC from the top.

First, this trail is really well built which means the climb into the alpine while long , isn't nearly as strenuous as it could be.

The trail is super popular, and for good reason! However, as we have to compare this to lord of the squirrels, it would be really awesome if there was a separate trail down, or some alternate routes to avoid the two way traffic. Yielding to climbers every 100 meters is not the end of the world, but does take away from the overall experience.

It sounds like there is lots of ongoing trail work around revelstoke and that is amazing, but having a blue or black downhill option would make the day far more enjoyable, like lord of the squirrels.

Does it dry up quick after a decent rain? Planning to do it in the next week, for the first time!

It says that it's an annual closure until July 15 but when does the closure start?
