This section starts out as a slightly downhill flowy fun cruise through pine trees. If needles are not leaf-blown off the trail, can be slightly hard to follow but usually OK. After the pines it drops into a small valley and criss-crosses it several times. Momentum is your friend in this section, if you can pedal the downhill parts it boosts you up the opposite climb a good ways. After the last gully DH, trail cruises along the bottom for a bit before a sharp right hairpin turn to climb up past an interesting tree and onto some wide track downhill then up to section 3. This trail is popular with hikers as well so be alert.

Fun section runs across a ravine 5 or 6 times. Drop in and climb up. The climbs are less direct and give you a chance to pedal up. Also a couple of bridges. Technical roots in sections.
