Starts in the Pine Creek Area near the Pine Creek Campground. There will be a trailhead sign just before entering the campground on the last corner going up a hill. From the parking area, this trail starts out pretty mellow and rideable for about a mile. Then it gets loose and steeper. Then goes down into Barney Creek and across a bridge. Then it gets steeper and you encounter scree slopes but is pretty fun; although technical in spots. The plunge down into Cascade Creek is pretty dangerous and the switchbacks are tight. Super technical Cross Cascade Creek and climb, which is steep in spots and becomes primitive. After checking out the small lake plummet back to Cascade Creek which is super fun and techy. Return the way you came after a workout pushing back up the scree strewn trail. The rest of the downhills back to the car are fun and increasingly easier.

Access Info

From the little town of Pine Creek and East River Road just follow the signs up towards the Pine Creek Campground. Before the campground is a signed turn up to the trailhead.

Clear and dry. Excellent early season conditions. Thanks to someone who got the log that was there a week ago!
