I really wish I hadn't ridden this trail. It's just a jeep double track and winds up and down. Accidentally ended up on it. Stick with the single black golden rim trail

March 2018. First time on trail, did an out and back from Gemini Bridges via Arth's/Little Canyon/GBR. The lower section of GBR is very good, going up and down. Dont be scared by the "experts only" warnings unless you're a tourist; just know your limit, hike what you need to hike. But it is strenuous! You did bring enough water, right? The upper part is a slickrock jeep trail which is very steep. Hike a bike steep unless youre a freaking beast. But the view at the top is ample reward. Going back DOWN this trail is a hoot. I didn't have a shuttle lined up, so skipped the Portal. Rode Great Escape back to Gemini Bridges. About 16 miles RT, took 4.5 hours, and the weather was perfect (high 50s). This would be brutal in temps over 70F, the slickrock gets hot. Start EARLY. Long ride the day before? Hmm, maybe a rest day would be better before you do this one! Trail intersections are well signed, plenty of painted gold bars to follow, and Trailforks was spot on.
