A classic route from the pages of the now out of print book by Doug Eastcott "Backcountry Biking in the Canadian Rockies". We used to do this several times a season, but with the boom in trail building in the Calgary area we only seem to do this once a year now. It is still a fall favorite as the trees changing color can be spectacular. Unfortunately the shift in primary usage from MTB to Equestrian means the trail is often chewed up. As well the 2013 floods have changed some once ridable stream crossings to deeper channels, and filled a favorite swimming hole stop with silt and gravel. That being said, it is still a worthwhile adventure, for the sake of the views and the sense of being a bit more remote than some of the other close-to-town offerings. The trail is reasonably well signed, but not perfect. Take a map or GPS, and be prepared for wet feet.
