This was an overgrown hiking trail. Lots of very large (6-8") lose rocks making it hard to get any momentum. It would be a lovely single track with a little maintenance.

Thanks for the comment... love the user feed back. I'm just trying to better understand where you encountered these trail conditions. Could you describe in more detail your approach/area of travel?

South end of the designated trail. Was headed north but turned around as the going was tough.

Younger's Road access is a private road giving access to the southern end of the Gowlland Harbour trail (~500m south of the Hope Spring Trail intersection). While it's true that a trail (aka Geneva trail) continues from this point south on private land to Vaughn Rd, this section has a number of crisscrossing trails and has some rough terrain -- actually, this was part of the original Quadra riding inventory, and is also one of Quadra's oldest trails >100yrs -- you know, "... had to walk for miles in all weather to get to school", well, that's one of the trails! Stay light on your bike... and don't complain if you're rolling on big wheels. -- Cheers.
