This trail is open to motorcycles, hikers, horses and bicycles.

The 3 mile Greenwood Lake Trail may be accessed from High Rock/Greenwood Lake Trailhead on Forest Road 8440. From here the trail heads south to meet Allen Mountain Trail #269 then turns west to access Greenwood Lake. From the lake it's a short climb to the trail's end at Forest Road 8511.

Greenwood Lake Trail may also be accessed via Forest Road 8511. From here the trail descends to Greenwood Lake then continues to link up with Allen Mountain Trail #269 before heading north to Forest Road 8440.

Alert: The trail receives minimal maintenance and may be difficult to follow.

This trail lets you connect Silver creek and Allen mountain to Osbourne mountain trails for an epic ride. It starts with a fun descent from Cougar gap and ends with a short climb to the High Rock trailhead.

Access Info

From Packwood, WA take Skate Creek Road for 4.3 miles. Then take a slight left onto Forest Road 47 and follow for another 7.6 miles. Turn right on Forest Road 84 and follow for 7.4 miles. Take a sharp left on Forest Road 8440 and follow 2.6 miles to the parking area.


This trail is maintained by the US Forest Service. Check with the USFS/Gifford Pinchot National Forest for the latest trail status.
