From Road 9712, the trail goes south along a ridgeline on and old jeep trail. There are some good views from this ridge as the trail winds through the open areas. The last half mile of the trail heads sharply downhill with a grade of 30 to 40 percent to its junction with the eastern end of Old Ellensburg Trail 1372 at Grouse Springs.
