This is a very painful grind straight up the fall line to the top of Silver Star Mountain. The first mile is all pushing. It's worth it, because you get great views and you can hook it up with Chinook Run, Tarbell (Hidden Falls) and make a fantastic loop out of this.
Access Info
Drive to Grouse Creek Vista on the L-1200 road. Make sure you have a DNR Discover pass. Head North up the hill. When you get to a fork in the trail 500 yards up the hill, go right, the hard way.

Loose and wide in spots and lots of hikers. basically just massive baby head plowing. Not a great descent but better than the chinook run option coming off Silverstar. If you're doing the tarbell loop and want the views at silverstar this is a good option in the clockwise direction but a stark contrast to the more mtb specific cold creek trail system it's connected to(cold creek, sixth sense, thrillium).
