The Gun Mount Trail is mostly flat and traverses behind the North Upper Truckee neighborhood with many connections along the way. It's named after the avalanche control gun tower at the base of Echo Summit near highway 50. After the Angora fire the character oft he trail changed. It's generally an easy trail and family friendly.
