Hayfield trail is used as primary up route to access flow trail, happy cats, and poplar ridge trail. It is a doubletrack snowmobile trail through most sections with some short single track sections around the sand pit. The trail heads up to the left side of a grassy area that turns left into the woods on a snowmobile trail. This trail spits out into a sandpit but if you stay to the left you can avoid the sand via a short single track and continue up. There is a large muddy area past the sand pit with two boards wide to cross over.
