Heartbreaker was the national XC course climb until they added Cardiac Arrest (for the Worlds). As such it is quite a climb. The technical challenge depends on how long it has been since it was last tended by the trail fairies. It gets progressively more challenging as the dirt wears away (until they restore it and it seems so easy again). Possesses a couple of "crux" moves that will get your attention including one at the very start and one at the very end.

       A number of the steps and the rocks through the outcrop have been smoothed out with dirt
