From the trailhead it's smooth and steep doubletrack for about 2 miles to a junction. Hidden Lakes atv trail goes right. Go left as per Trailforks app. Technical singletrack ensues, hike a bike, cool terrain.
This is a more difficult way to ride "Portal to Porcupine". Instead, most people shuttle up Portal Road to Windy Pass/Golden Trout Trailhead, and do Portal to Porcupine from there. Both roads are crap for driving, ride from the split either way.
