Great variance to the same ol same ol. A series of steep climbs is rewarded with a fast decent to the lake level in the back of the lake. This trail gives 360* views of the surrounding lands.

This trail stays mostly along the ridge line of the mountain. It has lots of inclines and declines in both directions. I'd probably rate this as a black given the steep declines/inclines on the trail. I rode down all the sections that I hit without giving it a second thought but on the return direction while pushing up the hill I was kind of surprised just how steep they were. For a beginner this trail would likely be quite daunting and unexpected given the blue rating. It also has quite a few areas where you can get bushwhacked by some sharp thorny bushes. so watch out for those as well.

I parked at the top, on Upper Lopez Canyon rd. There is a turnout/parking area (not sure if it's officially sanctioned for parking but there's no "no parking" signs and a gate to enter the trail on the other side of the road.
