This portion of the High Rim Trail climbs sharply from Highway 33 Trailhead (KP 1) to Goudie Road Trailhead (KP 9.5). Cardiac Hill is aptly named as it climbs roughly 300 m in the first 1.3 km of the trail. An additional 300 m awaits you before the high point at KP 6 before dropping gradually down to Goudie Road. The trail is a multi-use trails, but is a wilderness trail. Expect windfall, and rough trail bed. Portions of this trail have been affected by the 2017 Philpott Wildfire, use caution in these areas.
