The trail can be accessed from the Bouton Bridge parking lot down the hill from the trading post. The trail can also be access from beside campsite #9 in Loop A of the Boulton Campground. From there, take the interpretative trail south to where it meets up with the trail to Elk Pass, at the first left hand fork. The latter part of this trail is gravel road and very wide machine made trail.
