High Sierra Trail is located within Sequoia National Park and begins approximately 25 miles east of the town of Three Rivers, CA at Crescent Meadows. Be advised this access is within a designated fee area, and a backcountry permit is required for overnight travel. All trail users are strongly advised to be prepared for different modes of transportation within Sequoia as forestry operations often happen without notice and closures will force the use of shuttles provided by the park service. Long term parking can be found at the Museum at Giant Forest.
