Highlands is a narrow, technical cross-country trail exploring the forests and bluffs north of the East Bluff Bike Park in Copper Harbor. Leading riders both above and below a rocky cliff face, trail users will enjoy a unique experience as they explore the undeveloped forests far from town. Big views await you at the top of the bluff unlike any others in the area The trail features high exposure for over half its length which earns its difficulty rating. Much of the trail is a pleasant cross-country ride with rolling hills and switchbacks.

Be aware of oncoming riders. Once the loop is complete, Highlands will be converted to one-way as there are few safe opportunities to pass for much of the trail.

Access Info

The primary entrance is currently just off of The Keweenaw Point Trail just north of where it crosses Mandan Road. The far end comes close to Camp Manitou Road but does not cross yet.

Disclaimer

The NE end of the trail approaches Camp Manitou Rd but currently does not intersect it. It's a ~30' hike-a-bike if you would like to continue. Eventually this trail will become one-way once complete.

This is the best XC trail I've ever ridden. I can't wait until the entire loop is complete!
