This is a short, 1.25 mile hike to a wonderful cascading waterfall. Please DRIVE SLOWLY and be respectful of the residents who live along Kapahi Rd. Park alongside the road opposite the houses. Take any of the three access paths into the forest. They all lead to the same trail. The trail will be a little muddy, so do not bring your best shoes.

Follow the trail down and along the river. After about 0.25 miles off to the left will be a downclimb to the upper cascade. If you are gutsy, you can jump about 10 feet into the water. The climb out is downstream and to the right, but it is a little sketchy. Hike back up to the main trail and continue until you reach a T. Turn left and follow the trail to the top of the lower cascade, which is Ho'opi'i Falls. If you leave the main trail to go to the top of the falls, there is a short climb behind a large tree, which will take you back up to the main trail. Turn left at the top and in about 50 feet, there will be a downclimb to the base of the falls. This is a lovely place to hang out and eat lunch. There is a swimming hole with a rope swing to play on.

Access Info
