This is a 2.5 mile beginner friendly loop around the lake. It can be navigated in with direction as both have the fun of descending below the spillway and the climb back up and out. There are 3 stream crossings, 2 below the spillway and one up near the wall. The one up near the wall can be tricky if the side stream is flowing as the stepping stones are just below the surface. The main one from the spillway is rideable with momentum.
Overall this is a great loop for beginners.
This trail is named in honor of Lieutenant Hobart K. Kistler SC, USN, of Norfolk, VA, formerly of Centre Hall, PA.
Access Info
Off 322 and then from either of the three parking areas. The trail goes right through the two that also have a boat launch and is a short trip down the road from the overlook area.
