The Quigg Peak Roadless Area is a wild and remote corner of Montana that is rarely visited. Trails in this areas are rugged, remote, and difficult. The Hogback trail is typically opened in the spring by local outfitters and backcountry horsemen after the snow melts. This trail follows a relatively prominent ridge starting at the historic Hogback Homestead on Rock Creek. The trail is steep and loose in places and fun and flowy in other sections. This is a true back country ride. There is no cell service and it's a long way out if anything happens. Be prepared for an adventure when you ride this trail. This trail can be made into a loop by connecting with the Sandstone Ridge trail and riding back down toward Rock Creek where you will come out on the road approximately one mile upstream of the Hogback Homestead.

Cleared. Somewhat tough to follow at the high points due to the burn.
