This is a good out and back singletrack trail if you ride up to the cross viewpoint and back. Along with the undulating trail, you'll be in for a good climb, about 900 ft. Once you reach the top, you'll be treated to a very fun downhill ride. Be aware, there is a lot of hillside exposure that can play with your mind on the way back dow

Access Info

Turn south from Hwy. 111 onto Hwy. 74. After approximately 1 mile turn right on Thrush Road and proceed to the Homme/Adams Park to access the Hopalong Cassidy Trail via the Homestead Link. Alternatively, turn south off of Hwy. 111 onto El Paseo and right onto Painter's Path, left on Edgehill Drive and right on Greene Way which will lead you to Cahuilla Hills Park. There you can access this trail via the Gabby Hayes Link. Another option is to park at Painter's Path behind the Dessert Crossing Shopping Center and take the Mike Schuler trail to the Hopalong Cassidy Trail.

I'm not sure blue means what you think it means. Rode from Art Smith trail, down toward El Paseo...mostly walked it. The flowers were nice.

This is no where near a blue trail. Exposed descents with tight switchbacks. Sections 90% of people will be walking. Good first half of the trail to the cross on the hill. Second half is tough though

I rode from Target to the Cross and back. Really nice trail condition--mostly smooth and rideable, though steep in spots. Crowded with hikers on a cool temp Sunday, but I was the only biker on the trail. The downhill would was flowy and fun, but multiple hiker groups spoiled some of the fun.

It’s long and demanding. Great averall with impressive views on the rich villas and golf!! The switchbacka are quite impressive too.

Nice ride to combine with Art Smith and more!
