After leaving the Caretaker parking lot the trail follows a woods road for 500' before turning right into the woods. Soon after entering the woods the trail passes the junction with the Munsee Eagle trail. The trail then meanders uphill for about 1/2 mile before arriving at a large whaleback. From there the trail continues on an old woods road for 1 mile before reaching the Redback trail.
