Trail 404 starts from the south side of Thompson pass. This sub alpine trail first leads to blossom lake. From here one could turn around, or continue to pear lake. Once at Pear Lake a group of switchbacks leads to the ridge. The ridge trail north is very technical and features a few hike-a-bikes, you can turn East and continue to Cooper Pass and eventually to Upper Glidden Lake and even Mullan, ID. If you turn West you can climb up to Granite Peak, this route is extremely technical, with large scree crossings, but the views in all directions are incredible. It is worth leaving your bike to hike north on the ridge if you don't want to do a little pushing or ride the rock crossings. The views will not disappoint.
