Cool trail that gets up into the higher bits of Ogden, Warmwater and Coldwater canyons. Peaks at "Nevada Viewpoint" where you can see into Nevada over 118 miles away on a clear day. Very steep and technical at times. Several sections with extremely narrow trail widths and sheer drop offs. Some of the switchbacks are about as tight as physically possible. Definitely requires the occasional dismount and hike-a-bike. Best ridden from west to east but works both ways. Several steep, chunky rock drops and rock gardens. Best for experienced riders.

There is a small shelter at the top and great views of Ogden and the canyon. Originally used by ancient Shoshone Native Americans to bypass the river in the canyon bottoms during high water seasons. Very cool historical features at the east trailhead in Ogden Canyon. Lots of tree cover.

Access Info

Access from the 22nd St trailhead on Ogden's east bench at the top of 22nd St. or from the Coldwater canyon trailhead approximately 1.4 miles up Ogden canyon.

Trail’s running great except for multiple large trees down on the east side of the trail. Most of them require dismounting.

Better for hiking than riding. Half way sees much less traffic than either end and the trail gets sparse.

If you want some steep and technical terrain in Ogden, this is it.
