The trail starts/ends at the intersection of the Coyote Cove and Rimrock Trails. It is usually ridden east to west as this affords the best downhill experience. Until mid 2018 the east portion of the trail was a closeed old jeep road leading to the top of a ridge. It has since been widened and rocked to accommodate logging equipment. The trail mainly follows this new road except for a short portion south of the powerlines. When the road reaches the top of the ridge and goes through the gate take an immediate left and follow the fence to the south. Once logging operations have ceased this road will be closed to motorized vehicles.

The west portion of the trail is the highlight anyway and can be accessed by riding up the closed 300 road. This part of the trail descends almost 1000 vertical feet to the lake shore. It starts out as an ATV trail then turns into a fast and fun single track that follows the east fork of an unnamed dry creek. There's water in the drainage when it meets the west fork. The lower part of the downhill follows the old Sumpter Valley Railroad bed.
