Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, located at 5200 Glennon Dr in Shrewbury Missouri is an institution dedicated to the formation of priests for the Roman Catholic Church founded in 1923. A 17 acre natural prairie was created in a partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation during the renovation of the seminary in 2013. In 2015 the Rector, Fr. Mason became committed to establishing a nature trail that would traverse the grounds, prairie, grottos and wooded area to be open to the entire community for hiking, cross country running, bike riding and general enjoyment in a park-like setting. The 1.8 mile Bl. Giorgio Frassati Nature trail was laid out and is open to the public during daylight hours.
The trail is mostly dirt and grass but does cross the entrance drives and utilizes some of the paved walkways of the seminary as it meanders around the entire site. The trail is best enjoyed during the summer and fall months when the prairie is in full bloom. Please use caution especially on a bike when visibility can be limited on corners during the summer months. Pets should be kept on a leash and droppings should be picked up behind your pet. Parking is available in the 2 visitor lots located at the front of the seminary or in the Shrewsbury Community Center lot at 5200 Shrewsbury Ave.
