Ride this trail counter clockwise to get the most out of it and to take advantage of the series of tables below the radio towers. This trail is on Kershaw-Ryan State Park property--though you can access it from Spring Street, please consider going into the park and throwing a few bucks their way.

This is a sweet ride with sweeping views and flowy singletrack. Catching the desert golden hour up here will impress even the most seasoned traveler. Welcome to Caliente.

Used also for the Broken Record 3/6 Hr Course.

Access Info

Either climb up Spring Street (turns to dirt after the cattleguard and renames to Ella Mountain Road), or go into the State Park and start from the bottom of the canyon.

If you park in the State park expect a long up hill. Definitely want to go counter clockwise, also the trails are not marked at all so pay...

Road this trail today from the campground in the state park. Super trail with awesome views! As it rained almost 2” last night, there was one section that was pretty muddy but the rest of the trail was awesome! I credible wildflowers!

Rode the trail in early July. Good trail. Some techie stuff, some flowy stuff. Good climbs and fun descents. Great views over Kershaw-Ryan Park. This one is on my list for next trip to the area!

Don't ride this from the State Park unless you like hike a bike! Drive up the dirt road instead. It's NOT a green trail from the SP but any stretch of the imagination. Also not and relevant signage so lag the route on your Garmin before you go. Fun trail tho!
