Leg 5 Details
A somewhat underused trail that takes you in and then out of the hills in Saskatchewan Landing Park. This trail consists on a wide range of trail surfaces and features such as wide dirt single track, over grown grass single track, narrow side hills, bog/swamp/creek crossings, dry dusty trail, and sections of tree covered trail. There are also many instances where there is cactus either on the main trail or just off to the side. I tried to avoid as many of the cactus as possible, but still had multiple quills stuck in my tires. Would recommend running a tubeless setup to avoid flats.
Event though the trail is overgrown and does not look to be overly used, it is easy to follow with the green poles placed throughout the trail and the trail forks map.
This trail required me to get off my bike multiple times and hike a bike for probably 30-35 percent of the trail. There are numerous areas on the trail that are too steep to ride up and where the side hill is impassable by bike. Even though there are lots of ridable sections, it does not flow very well.
Access to the trail is close to the parking lot just west of the Goodwin House. The trail starts and ends on the south side of the gravel road. Look for the green pole markers just off the road to the south follow the trail up.
