The Little Horse Trail connects Osa Meadow in the north to Beach Meadow in the south. The trail starts near the junction of FR 20S25 and the Blackrock Mountain Trail, heading west along the south edge of Osa Meadow, then bending south through an old burn area. After a short climb to a saddle, the trail crosses FR 20S31 and continues south to FR 21S02 at Beach Meadow. Grades are mostly moderate, with some steep sections. There are some areas of sand and loose rock, and some slabs and boulders.

This trail has a variety of southern Sierra terrain, ranging from dry, sandy desert to lush alpine meadow. There are groves of lodgepole pine and quaking aspen lining many of the meadow sections. West of the junction with FR 20S31, there is an excellent viewpoint southwest over the Kern River Valley.
