This single track trail drops from 7,600 feet to 6,400 feet from the Stormy Peak Road (023) to the Moose Creek Road (406). There is a stiff uphill climb in the middle. The trail goes through lodge pole pine forests, creeks, wet areas, grassy wet meadows, and past granite rock outcrops. This trail is very wet early in the season. Portions of the trail may be hard to find in the grassy meadows. Heavy lodge pole pine mortality from bark beetles may contribute to lots of downfall across the trail if it hasn't been cleared out recently. This is in a grazing area and cattle may be present on or along the trail. You can do a loop or shuttle ride by utilizing nearby access roads.
Stormy Peak Road (023) on the south and west end and the Moose Creek Road (406) on the north and east end.
