Long Prairie Trail Details
The Long Praire Trail is a 15-mile long mostly unpaved pathway located to the northeast of Rockford. The trail goes across wide open farmland and through the cities of Poplar Grove and Capron. The east end of the Long Prairie Trail meets up with the Stone Bridge Trail which extends as far as Rockton.
The west end of the Long Prairie Trail is at McMichael Road, to the east of Roscoe. This is the location where the Stone Bridge Trail ends. From this location, the trail heads to the southeast ad goes past Caledonia and the Candlewick Lake neighborhood. The trial then goes through the community of Poplar Grove and Capron.
The east end of the Long Prairie Trail is located at the trailhead on Boone McHenry County Line Road, 0.5 miles north of Highway 173.
