If you were to ride one trail in the front range, this should be it. It has drops, steep technical sections, and fast bermy corners. Most bike traffic goes down longhorn . Some bikers prefer to get to the top of longhorn via Belcher. Please note; this is a multi use trail and you may encounter traffic coming up as you are descending.

Disclaimer

There is a section of Longhorn that is now bike and downhill only! This section starts from the North end of the Shorthorn intersection and goes down to the North end of Whippletree.

The trails received a little rain while I was there, but not enough to make a huge impact - just enough to keep the dust down temporarily.

It's a multi use bidirectional trail. Most people prefer to ride it downhill though.

Fun trail! Fast single track with lots of small drops. Don't ride up this trail, you'll be walking your bike a lot.

I have been riding Front Range for 20 years. This is the best trail within 75 miles for steep, fast, technical DESCENDING. Climb Belcher Hill trail to beging descending on Maverick. Ride the rest down Longhorn.

Hoping that since Longhorn will now be bike-only, directional it does not attract trail-building attention - it's already SO perfect!

Trail descriptions: Steep, rocky, medium to high consequence, technical. Would not recommend riding up. If you don't have mountain bike skills do not ride. Started from top and climb up was difficult.
      Have fun!
