Very steep fire/maintenance road. Gravel initially and slowly gets nicer (dirt and tree mulch) as you climb up to the higher elevations. Painful all the way up. The scenary of this trail does not match it's surroundings. Essentially climbs and skirts the park.

The absolutely only reason to do this trail is to join the Peavine trail above and to come down the Thorton Trail, an awesome beautiful and scenic single track coming down the mountain. To be fair this trail does get nicer in the top 1/3rd, but it's just grunt work getting there.
