This trail was completed in August 2017 and still a bit raw in places. It was funded by the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association and built in partnership with the US Forest Service and many volunteers. The trail sits on a rocky glacial moraine ridge line. Part of a larger multi-year new trail system project connecting Tahoe Mountain, Angora Ridge and Fallen Leaf Lake - your membership and Trail Karma dollars at work

This trail is relentlessly rocky, but very fun up and downhill. Moderate incline, tight turns, and outstanding views of Fallen Leaf Lake and Mount Tallac.

Makes an excellent walking alternative to get to Angora Lakes.

Access Info

The trail begins just to the west of Angora Lake Road at the intersection with Tahoe Mountain Road. It exits onto Angora Lake Road about 300 ft shy of the fire lookout tower and picks up again on the opposite side of the road about 30ft lower.

A few snow patches at the very top, easy to walk over. Otherwise clear of snow and mud.

This might be the most fun trail I've ever ridden uphill.
