This easy lowland forested trail is 6.2 miles with grades of 10-15% along or near the Big Quilcene River. This is an excellent hike in spring and early summer. There is a junction with Notch Pass Trail at 2.7 miles. A pickup could be made at the end of the trail at Forest Service Road #2750 (Ten Mile Shelter) Upper Big Quilcene Trailhead for a one way trip. This is a Multi-use trail.

The Lower Big Quilcene Trail is recommended for all users, particularly pack stock, mountain and motorbikes.

Access Info

A valid Recreation Pass is required at the Lower Quilcene Trailhead for day use.

Brush gets kinda narrow near the top. There's a large tree across the trail about a half mile from the top trailhead, but crossing it is manageable.

Beautiful virgin ride on my new bike...a little/lot too hard beyond notch pass cutoff

Trail is in great shape. Slight brush issues near the top but generally very clear and well maintained. Awesome ride that is worth checking out.
