XC Singletrack linking Arthurs Point area and the old Shotover bridge. Great mix of trail with farmland sections, river flats, machine built bench and singletrack through the willow trees. Can be ridden in either direction and works well as an out and back.
This is a grade 3 MTB trail but has short sections of HIGH EXPOSURE which is well signposted. If you are uncomfortable on the trail then walk these sections.
Trail is multi use and 2 way so be aware of other users.
Crossed farmland so leave gates as you found them (generally closed)

Access Info

Arthurs Point end: Park at the car park at the bottom of the dip on Littles Road as it leaves Malaghans road. Cross the road and start to ride up the hill. Turn right on to the dirt as the road just begins to climb and look out for the trail head on the left just past the house site. Trail clmbs steeply at first but soon mellows.

Shotover bridge end: Park at the Old Shotover bridge and ride over it. Go under the bridge and start out on the Old shotover bridge to arrowtown ride along the river. The trail head is on the left just as the main trail climbx steeply to teh right. It's well signposted

Can be linked with other rides on the Queenstown Trail

Start of trail shotover bridge side has collapsed into river, still passable over some tussock. Overgrown at this end too. Pine cones make it...

Semi-boring trail. Dry and loose in some parts. The trail smells nice in spring with all the broom and lupins but it's a pretty dumb ride though....

Plenty of fun to be had on this trail.

There are some technical parts first through the forest with some log features and trees, followed by some short but punchy climbs that give extra challenge due to the loose sandy terrain.
Nice flowing feel to the second half of the ride through the paddocks towards Arthurs point and any exposure is clearly marked if you are less confident.
Caution and respect toward other trail users needed as the trail is not very wide and with the spring growth visibility is limited in parts.

Great track with something to offer most riders.

Tip: (unless you love cardio) once you reach the last gate (sunken into the ground) at Arthurs point there is little need to drop down the hill with the switchbacks as you just have to ride straight back up again from the carpark.
