The first and shortest of the "Irish Canyons", this can be done as an easy technical canyoneering route, or a challenging hike. The slot section is not as deep or as long as the others in the neighborhood; its main advantage is that it can be explored quickly.

Follow this trail counter-clockwise, ascending the eastern slot canyon. At the top end of the canyon is a challenging, but doable climb onto the rim; for mixed groups, it would be good to bring a 40ft rope as a handline to help beginners up. If you don't like it, just go back down; you've already seen the best part. At the rim, cross over the ridge to the western canyon, but when you see it, don't drop into the first drainage--this is a technical rappel. Instead, cross the wash and follow the west rim until you see a side drainage that is much easier to drop into. If this is too much, you could just keep walking west and in a half mile you'd reach the highway junction. Return via the highway.
