This section of trail is a very difficult climb and a fun and technical downhill. Several sections of trail are narrow and rocky with difficult to maneuver sections in tight succession. The switchbacks are narrow and there are sharp rocks every few feet. The closer you get to the ridge the more difficult it is. Once you crest the top, the riding on the ridge is actually pretty easy.

This is a fun section if you are into technical climbing or that slow technical descent with multiple drops with off camber rocks.

This section of Mack Ridge is very steep and technical for a significant portion. In the uphill direction it has several hike-a-bike spots that would not be rideable by most riders going down either.

Descending this trail is really tough and somewhat frustrating. It starts off very fun but once you get to the switchbacks is a royal pain. It's very tight and technical and it seems like every single rock is positioned to grab your wheel and fling you over the bars. Still worth riding and well built but be ready for a challenge.
